Club members on tour in Majorca 2011
Eight Club members played four courses in Majorca in May this year including the one pictured, where they were accompanied by roaming goats. The leading individual points scorer during the week was Alan Walker, who insisted on carrying his clubs rather than use a trolley or buggy. The leading pair was Sandy Penman and Neil Young whereas our Captain, below, decided the best way to cool down was to go for a paddle!
Members Short Stories
During the Walker Trophy George Duncan reported a sickening clash of heads on the eighth hole between his nine iron and his driver resulting in the driver losing the head completely. Members spoke of there shock at the sight of world war two veteran Tam Davidson swimming along the water hazard at the sixth hole, when asked about this Tam explained that he was in the process of learning to drive his new battery operated trolley when he hit the wrong button and both he and his clubs took a dive, his playing partners fear they will never recover from this. Poor George Duncan again spoke of his horror as a stray rock hard maximum distance golf ball fired miles off line via Gary Luther at the par three 15th hole demolished the wheel of his electric caddy car at the side of the sixteenth tee, playing partner Billy Reid remarked that he was not surprised at this as he had hit similar tee shots at this hole throughout the season. Member Jimmy Young performed an amazing forward flip to display his delight at winning one of our fabulous raffle prizes at a recent club function, this certainly brought the house down, when asked why he had performed this Jim replied "it had been a long time since his last raffle win and that this win would save him buying Sandra a box of Cadbury's Roses". Please note a Health and Safety Risk Assessment has been carried out on the dance floor.

Carrick Knowe and Travel 20 fought out a tough match played in difficult weather coditions that ended in a draw. Travel 20 retain the trophy as holders from 2009 match.
C/Knowe Vs Lloyds & Scottish
Carrick Knowe, unable to field their strongest team this year due to injuries were beaten by Lloyds & Scottish for the first time in many years. Murmours of Dubious handicaps were heard later, However, not wishing to upset the fantastic relationship these two organisation have had over the years,Carrick Knowe have taken the defeat on the chin.--- PS.
